Concert Policy:
All Students in Chorus are expected to attend all performances. Our performances are our final exams, and are graded as a summative assessment. Please make sure you communicate with Miss Hart if you have concerns about concert dates, times, or attire. Our goal is for all students to succeed, if you reach out for help we will do everything in our power to make sure your student is successful. |
Concert Dress:
The purpose of a concert dress code is to ensure that the focus of our concerts is the music, not the fashion. The dress code is not meant to single anyone out, but rather unify the group while performing. Students should wear all black clothing with a splash of color such as a scarf, tie, belt, necklace, headband, or shoes. Everyone should dress in their concert best, please no casual attire. If a student is wearing a dress or a skirt that is not floor length, they must wear black leggings or tights underneath. If a student is wearing leggings as pants, please ensure that the leggings are opaque, as harsh lighting makes thin leggings see-through. We suggest that leggings should be worn with a top that is long enough to reach the thighs to avoid this problem. Regular school dress code still applies at concerts, for more information on this, refer to page 22 of the Student Handbook. If you are unable to meet these dress code needs, please reach out in advance of the concert. Often times concert attire can be borrowed or provided if we are given enough prior notice. |
“We cannot listen to one voice above all others. We must listen to a choir of voices if we are to understand the individual tunes.”
